30kW Fuel Cell
The HMGS includes a novel grid connected Fuel Cell power generator system (please note the picture here does not represent the solution being installed as it is a bespoke construction - the picture will be updated as soon as possible) that will be used to provide power to the project site offices when required, such as during Peak demand periods.
Primarily, the fuel cell will be enabled to receive an external 'switch on' command when there is excessive electrical demand within the project offices against the electrical power available from the wind turbine to minimise the imported electrical power from the electrical grid up to a maximum of 40kVA, 30kW maximum sustained load.
In addition, the fuel cell will be capable as operating as a demonstration facility.
It is predicted that the fuel cell will be capable of supplying continuous full power, 30kW, for up to 72 hours when operated from the hydrogen stored on site.
The grid connected fuel cell system will conform to the following criteria:
- Direct and safe connection to a 400VAC 3 Phase 50Hz grid.
- Electrical generation efficiency > 35%
- Ability to sustain a continuous 30kWe electrical output maximum
- Modular design approach
- Total Harmonic Distortion at full power for non linear loading within limits set down by the G59 grid connection standard
- Warranted period of operation for fuel cell stack rated to 1500 hours
- Require a hydrogen supply with purity of at least 99.995%
- Provide a completed solution including battery, inverter, cabinet, ventilation, cooling, internal hydrogen leak detection, and ducting systems.
